
Laurent Papot
In 2003, Laurent Papot created the theater company “La Sérénade Interrompue” with director Séverine Chavrier, current director of the Comédie de Genève. Their collaboration has resulted in more than a dozen shows, including “Epousailles et Réprésailles” (2010), “Les Palmiers Sauvages” (Wild Palms) based on Faulkner’s work (2014), “Nous sommes repus mais pas repentis” (We Are Repuses But Not Repentant) based on “Luncheon at Wittgenstein’s” (2016), and more recently “Ils Nous ont oubliés” (They Forgotten Us) (2021), adapted from Thomas Bernhard’s novel “La Plâtrière” (The Plâtrier) and “Absalon Absalon” (Absalon Absalon) based on Faulkner’s work (2024), which opened the Avignon Festival.
In theater, he has also worked under the direction of Ivo Van Hove, Vincent Macaigne, Nicolas Stemann, Simon Stone, Célie Pauthe, and Jérémie Lelouët, among others.
In film, he can be seen in films by Guillaume Brac, Jules Zingg, Vincent Macaigne, Barry Levinson, and will soon be seen in “The Incredible Snow Woman” by Sébastien Betbeder, which will be released in theaters in November 2025, or in “Sauvage” by Camille Ponsin, which is scheduled for release in early 2026.
